AST took delivery of 2630 GP3 from Belgium and got to work. The results are a GP3 specific lowering spring and a GP3 specific 5100 kit. Similar to BMW kits that we offer, we have targeted the harsh ride and nervous behaviour of the standard car as points for improvement. Customer feedback is that the car is more compliant, easier to drive and torque steer is reduced.
For the 5100 customers we have kept the spring rate relatively stiff, so that the balance of the car is retained and dynamic behaviours are as intended, but the damper curves are smoother for far superior compliance and grip. Being adjustable then means you can tune to your customer requirements and can be used with the original equipment top mounts, or with AST camber adjustable top mounts.
