Performance Brake Solutions (PBS) is a leading race and track day brake pad manufacturer. Used in many competitive races around Europe, PBS brakes are able to withstand the ultimate braking force and stamina required by the biggest names in motorsport.
PBS brakes are built to perform even under the most extreme conditions. High speed braking increases the temperature on the brake pad, causing gasses to be created, reducing performance. PBS brakes are manufactured with slots cut into the pads to let these gasses escape, improving braking efficiency and reducing fade.
Brake pads are subjected to huge pressures from the caliper pistons in unequal proportions across the pad. In order to perform at their optimum, the back plate must remain flat. PBS brakes use Nucap NRS hooked back plates to provide both a mechanical and an adhesive bond between the pad and the back plate, keeping it flat and ensuring maximum performance.
With an operating temperature of between 0 and 800°C, the PBS brake pad system will handle most serious breaking conditions.
PBS manufacture two types of brake pads for optimum performance in every circumstance. Although both made from a ceramic graphite material, each type differs slightly in use and stopping ability.
Their ProRace brake pads are for use in professional racing series, due to a stronger initial bite, and a high stopping power of up to 0.58mu. The PBS ProTrack brakes are more suitable for occasional track use or during wet conditions, due to their milder initial bite, and lower stopping power of 0.48mu.
PBS brakes are great value for those who want brake pads that stand the test of time, as well as perform well at both very hot and very cold temperatures.
