The Sprintbooster fits all MINIs.
Developed to minimise the delay introduced by the drive-by-wire (ETC / Electronic Throttle Control) system, the Sprintbooster can be seen as a programmable sports button, allowing you to tweak the throttle response at a touch of a button. Featuring 9 programs, over 2 acceleration modes (sport and race), the Sprintbooster gives you 18 options on how responsive you would like your car to be.
Not only is the Sprintbooster used to customise throttle response, but it has two extra features - valet and pedal lock mode. Valet mode limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55%-75% whilst pedal lock mode provides extra protection against unauthorised vehicle use. Both features can be activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN.
HOW IT WORKS:
Most modern vehicles have an ECM (Electronic Control Module) that translates pedal travel into electronic signals in order to provide power to the wheels.
The ETC system (Electronic Throttle Control) – also known as drive-by-wire – has the unfortunate downside of delayed throttle response and subdued acceleration, creating problems in certain circumstances such as up-hill starts, quick gear changes, overtaking, etc. The Sprint Booster aims to overcome this throttle response delay by providing crisp on-tap acceleration at the driver’s disposal.
RESULTS:
SPRINT BOOSTER NOW COMES WITH 3 MODES:
Each Acceleration mode comes with 9 programs, giving 18 in total. The New units give the driver the option to select the transmission of their vehicle.
VALET AND PEDAL LOCK MODE:
Valet mode limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55 % – 65% – 75% activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN. Pedal Lock mode provides extra protection against unauthorized vehicle use. The acceleration ability of the vehicle can be deactivated through a 3 digit PIN.
