Performance Gains

Dyno testing recorded gains of +16 WHP and +20 Nm without a retune.

To ensure accuracy, all dyno runs were completed on the same day using the same tune, fuel, hardware, 5th gear, and a closed bonnet.

The only change during testing was swapping the OEM airbox for the TPE Precision Airbox Kit.

Functional Secondary Air Feed

The OEM front air diverter on the F56 is already highly efficient, so instead of replacing a component MINI engineered well, we focused on increasing total system volume and airflow potential.

Our secondary air diverter is positioned in the cowl high-pressure zone, supplying additional cold, dense air directly into the enlarged airbox. This gives the intake greater internal volume than traditional closed systems while remaining sealed against engine-bay heat.

Material Choice

We manufacture our intakes from advanced plastics rather than metal. Plastic does not absorb and retain heat like metal shielding, helping support lower and more consistent intake temperatures.

The filter is fed by cold air from two locations: the factory front diverter and the TPE Precision secondary air diverter positioned at the high-pressure cowl area.

Enhanced Turbo Acoustics

By routing the secondary intake path toward the cowl, outside the heavily insulated engine bay, the system changes how turbo sound reaches the cabin.

• Reduced damping from engine-bay insulation
• Shorter, more direct acoustic path
• Increased spool and blow-off valve sound
• Audible turbo sound even at light throttle and with closed windows

The result is a raw, mechanical turbo sound profile while retaining the efficiency benefits of a sealed intake system.
